Manchester United to swoop for Barcelona defender?

Dest to Man Utd?

Manchester United have been credited with an interest in signing Barcelona right-back Sergino Dest during the January transfer window.

The Red Devils currently have Diogo Dalot and Aaron Wan-Bissaka as their right-back options, but the latter has fallen out-of-favour.

There are suggestions that Ralf Rangnick prefers a more attack-minded full-back. El Nacional claims that Dest could be an option.

Dest has failed to nail down a regular starting role with the Catalan giants, and he has recently played in a wide attacking position.

Xavi Hernandez does not appear to favour him in defence, and it is claimed that he could be sold for around £25 million in January.

The Blaugrana are currently under a financial crisis amid their extravagant spending and need to offload players to make new signings.

They are already considering potential bids for Ronald Araujo, and Dest could be another heading for the exit door at the turn of the year.

The club have their sights on landing Ferran Torres while it has been rumoured that Anthony Martial is also on their transfer radar.

There could be a swap deal with United involving Martial and Dest.
