Manchester United attacker eyeing January exit
Manchester United attacker eyeing January exit
Manchester United attacker Juan Mata could be heading for the exit door during the January transfer window.
The Spaniard was touted to leave the club last summer, but United surprisingly triggered the 12-month extension clause on his contract.
The 33-year-old has since made just three appearances for the Red Devils. He is now weighing up his options ahead of the New Year.
According to Manchester Evening News, Mata is ready to move on from the Mancunian giants amid his lack of playing time.
With his contract expiring next summer, he could be available for a nominal fee. He could also be released for free with a pay out.
Valencia and Villarreal are among the contenders to land his signature. Mata has fond memories with Valencia, and may favour them.
Aside from Mata, Jesse Lingard could also leave the club next month. He has already rejected a new contract beyond next summer.
Newcastle United and West Ham United have been linked with him.
