Arsenal could make a mid-season move for Jonathan David if Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang heads for the exit door.

Aubameyang was recently stripped of captaincy for a disciplinary breach. He has been dropped for the last two games.

The Gabon star has also been left out of tomorrow's trip to Leeds, and there is speculation that he could leave in January.

According to L'Equipe, the Gunners are braced for the potential exit of Aubameyang amid his fallout with Arteta.

They have a contingency plan in place with David identified as a potential replacement for the 32-year-old next month.

David has been in fine form for Lille with 14 goals from 25 outings. The French outfit are open to selling him for the right price.

He is reportedly valued at around £35m, but could be prised away for less amid Les Dogues' tight financial situation.

Aside from David, the Gunners have also been linked with Fiorentina's Dusan Vlahovic, but he has no plans of joining them.
