Tottenham Hotspur enter the race for Brazilian playmaker
Tottenham Hotspur could reportedly offer stiff competition to Arsenal in the pursuit of Philippe Coutinho.
The Brazil international has been touted to leave Barcelona this month amid the lack of regular game time.
A recent report claimed that the Gunners could be favourites to sign the playmaker on loan with manager Mikel Arteta being a firm admirer.
Coutinho fancies a return to the Premier League. It appears that Spurs are also planning to make an approach for the former Liverpool man.
Spurs boss Antonio Conte is keen on making signings of his own this month. He has identified Coutinho as an ideal mid-season recruit.
Everton have also been credited with an interest in the 29-year-old, but they are likely to be snubbed amid their lowly league position.
The Merseyside outfit are currently languishing in the 15th spot on the league table, just six points adrift of the relegation positions.
Spurs will host north London rivals Arsenal in the Premier League later this month.
