Arsenal pushing to sign Brazilian star on loan
Arsenal are reportedly in advanced negotiations with Juventus to sign midfielder Arthur Melo.
The Gunners are desperate to pursue a new midfielder this month amid their limited options in the position.
Thomas Partey and Mohamed Elneny are currently away on international duty and won't feature this month.
Meanwhile, Ainsley Maitland-Niles has been loaned out while Granit Xhaka is sidelined with coronavirus.
This leaves them with Albert Sambi Lokonga as the only specialist option. A new signing seems imminent.
According to RMC Sport, the club are prioritising a move for Arthur over Lyon midfielder Bruno Guimaraes.
Lyon want between €40-45m for the Brazilian. On the contrary, Arthur could be available on a short-term loan.
The Bianconeri are likely to sanction Arthur's exit following their Italian Super Cup final against Inter Milan.
The midfielder has also been linked with Sevilla, but he has his sights on playing for the Gunners this season.
The Brazil international feels he can adapt to Mikel Arteta's system with his excellent distribution qualities.
