Arsenal inching closer to signing Serie A midfielder?
Arsenal are reportedly inching closer to signing Juventus midfielder Arthur, Tuttosport claims.
The Gunners are keen on bolstering the central midfield department, and Arthur has been identified as the prime target.
The Brazilian is open to joining them on a short-term loan agreement, but the Bianconeri must land a replacement first.
According to Tuttosport, the Bianconeri have their sights on pursuing Denis Zakaria as a replacement for the 25-year-old.
Zakaria has less than six months remaining on his Borussia Monchengladbach deal, and he has decided against a renewal.
The German outfit are ready to sell him rather than lose him on a free transfer. They want around £6m million for his services.
Juventus are prepared to meet the price tag, and his arrival could pave the way for Arthur to join the Gunners before the transfer deadline.
The Gunners were previously interested in Lyon's Bruno Guimaraes, but were put off by the £40m fee. They may return for him this summer.
