Predicted Man Utd line-up vs Burnley, De Gea returns

Manchester United face Burnley on the road in today's Premier League encounter.

The Red Devils are on a two-match winning league run, but recently bowed out of the FA Cup with a shock penalty shoot-out defeat to Middlesbrough.

The players will be looking to make amends at Turf Moor. The club can cement their fourth spot for another matchday with three points.

Predicted Line-up:

David de Gea has been ever-present in the Premier League this term. He has proved his worth with several stand-out performances, and is now an undisputed starter.

In front of him, no changes are likely. Alex Telles was in line to feature, but he has been sidelined due to coronavirus. Diogo Dalot and Luke Shaw should start in the full-back roles with Raphael Varane accompanying Harry Maguire at the heart of the defence.

Scott McTominay and Paul Pogba are expected to continue in midfield. Pogba has just returned from a three-month lay-off due to a thigh injury, but Ralf Rangnick may persist with him after Fred tested positive for coronavirus. Pogba was lively on his comeback, but needs to be dealt with caution.

Further forward, it could be the same combination from the Boro defeat. Jadon Sancho showed plenty of promise from the left wing, netting his first home goal in the club's colours. He should continue with Marcus Rashford expected to feature on the opposite end.

Bruno Fernandes squandered a chance to convert into an empty goal last week, and it proved costly. Despite this, he is expected to start in the number 10 position. Similar to the Portuguese, his compatriot Cristiano Ronaldo had a dismal showing in the FA Cup fourth round.

He squandered an early penalty to put United ahead. Only three of his eight shots were on target over 120 minutes. Ronaldo has yet to score since the turn of the year, and it could be the right time for him to add to his 14 goals this campaign.

Predicted Man Utd line-up (4-2-3-1): David de Gea; Diogo Dalot, Raphael Varane, Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw; Scott McTominay, Paul Pogba; Marcus Rashford, Bruno Fernandes, Jadon Sancho; Cristiano Ronaldo.
