Chelsea suffer major injury blow ahead of Carabao Cup final
Chelsea could be missing the services of Mason Mount for the Carabao Cup final against Liverpool on February 27.
The England international suffered an ankle injury in the Club World Cup final against Palmeiras. He was substituted in the 31st minute.
The injury is not serious as initially predicted, but the Blues graduate is expected to be sidelined for at least a couple of weeks.
Hence, he is a major doubt to face the Reds in the Carabao Cup final in less than two weeks. His absence should concern the Blues.
Mount has been the Blues' most creative playmaker this term, registering seven goals and six assists from 21 league appearances.
With the club largely misfiring up front, his absence will leave a void in their attack as they prepare to face Jurgen Klopp's side.
Chelsea are currently third in the Premier League standings with 47 points, 16 adrift of leaders Manchester City, who have played a game more.
