Liverpool lining up summer bid for 24-year-old defender

Liverpool are keen on finalising a summer deal for Torino defender Gleison Bremer, Tuttosport claims.

The Brazilian was linked with a move to Fulham last summer, but he opted to snub their advances.

He has since been in excellent form for the Serie A outfit, and is now attracting high-profile interest.

Inter Milan are already in talks with his agents, but it is claimed that the Reds are also interested.

The Merseyside outfit are expected to part ways with Joe Gomez this summer, and have identified Bremer as a replacement.

It is unclear whether the 24-year-old will be interested in joining them, considering he would struggle for regular game time.

Virgil van Dijk, Joel Matip and Ibrahima Konate are currently regarded as the preferred central defenders under Jurgen Klopp.

Gomez has hardly played over the course of the campaign, and Bremer could face a similar situation if he joins the Reds this summer.

He could be better off moving elsewhere. Inter could be an ideal club for him as they have played with a back three for some time.
