Man Utd get to know Aurelien Tchouameni price

Manchester United will need to pay around £42m to sign Monaco midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni, Foot Mercato claims.

The Frenchman is one of the best defensive midfielders in Ligue 1, and has been touted to pursue a bigger challenge.

Real Madrid and Barcelona have been linked with him lately, but the 22-year-old has his sights on a Premier League move.

United are among his admirers, but they are unlikely to get him on the cheap. Monaco want at least £42m for their asset.

Monaco purchased him from Bordeaux for just £16m, but they agreed a 20 per cent sell-on clause as part of the transfer.

Aside from United, Chelsea have been heavily linked with the France international, but they are not in a position to spend.

With the sanctions on owner Roman Abramovich, the Blues are basically under a transfer ban until the change of ownership.

Tchouameni has the potential to become a world-class midfielder. He has averaged 2.7 tackles and 2.6 interceptions per game this term.
