Arsenal to make move for Goncalo Ramos?

Arsenal monitoring Goncalo Ramos

Portuguese youngster Goncalo Ramos has caught the eye with some impressive performances in the Portuguese top flight so far this season, and Arsenal have reportedly deployed a scout to watch the 20-year-old's progress. Reports from Portugal suggest that the Gunners will table a 25 million euro bid for Ramos during the summer transfer window.

The 6 foot 1 striker has caught the eye so far this season, with a return of 7 goals in the league. The Benfica striker has emerged from the club's youth team and has been in prolific form for Portugal's under-21 side, with the striker scoring 10 goals in 13 games since his debut for the under-21's in 2020.

Having allowed Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang leave for Barcelona on a free transfer, there also remains question marks over the long-term future of Eddie Nketiah, whose contract shall expire on July 1st. Alexander Lacazette will also likely leave the Emirates, as he has not yet entered discussions on a new contract with Arsenal. Lacazette is believed to be ready to return to his former club Lyon in Ligue 1.

Therefore, Arsenal find themselves looking for an out and out striker to replace the striking duo, and Ramos could be available for a somewhat affordable £20 million.
