England striker open to joining Arsenal?
Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin is open to joining Arsenal over Newcastle United this summer, Football Insider claims.
The England international had an impressive 2020/21 campaign with the Toffees, bagging 21 goals across all competitions.
However, he has failed to replicate the showing this term amid regular injuries. He has netted just three times for the Merseysiders.
Ahead of the summer, the 25-year-old has been touted to leave the club and it is reported that he would prefer a move to the Emirates.
The Gunners made a tentative enquiry at the start of last season, but the Toffees had no plans to part ways with their prized asset.
Their stance may now change amid their financial concerns. It remains to be seen whether he could be signed for a knockdown fee.
The Toffees are currently in the relegation zone, and are facing the prospect of dropping to the Championship for the first time ever.
If that happens, there could be a massive selling spree. Arsenal may seek to revive their interest in Calvert-Lewin in the coming weeks.
