Barcelona agree 2 year deal with Chelsea defender
Barcelona have agreed a contract with Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta, with the Spaniard reportedly earning a 30 percent bump on his current deal in West London. The full-back looks set to leave the Blues and move to the Nou Camp at the end of the season.
The 32-year-old has played over 300 times for Chelsea since making a move to West London from French club Marseille in 2012, and has firmly affixed himself as a mainstay of the club's starting eleven since.
A high profile falling out with a Chelsea supporter after the club's Premier League defeat to Arsenal seemed to signal the beginning of problems for the defender, and with the club's position as 3rd place in the league in jeopardy after throwing away a 2-0 lead against Wolves yesterday, the club are likely to commence a rebuilding programme with several new faces joining the club this summer.
Azpilicueta will almost definitely become a first team regular at Barcelona, who have already brought in the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang since the start of the new year.
