Brazilian star regrets joining Chelsea
Brazilian star Alexander Pato has said that he regrets joining Chelsea on a six-month loan during the 2015/16 campaign.
The 32-year-old made the surprise loan switch to the Blues in January 2016, but hardly played over the remainder of the season.
He was handed with just two Premier League starts, and Pato has now revealed his regrets over his experience at the London club.
The forward was anticipating to sign for the Blues on a permanent basis after his six-month loan, but that was unfortunately not the case.
He told The Players' Tribune: "I thought that Chelsea would loan me for six months and then I'd sign for three years. I didn't realise that they could say no after the loan.
"Had I known? I would have gone elsewhere. It was a pity, because I was training really well, and the coach (Guus Hiddink) only played me twice. I never understood why."
The former AC Milan star is currently with Orlando City in the MLS where he has registered three goals from 19 outings this term.
He was anticipated to reach the heights of Kaka during his time at Milan, but never realised his full potential after making a bright start.
