Bukayo Saka on Manchester City's radar
Bukayo Saka on Manchester City's radar
Premier League champions Manchester City are increasing their efforts to sign Arsenal star Bukayo Saka.
The young Englishman has two years left on his current deal, and one of the priorities this summer from the Gunners' club hierarchy is to secure Saka's long-term future.
Saka had an impressive season with Arsenal, scoring 11 goals and assisting 7, but this wasn't enough for the North London team to grab a top 4 spot, as they fell short, finishing 2 points behind their rivals Tottenham and without Champions League football since the 2016/17 season.
Mikel Arteta trusts Saka, as he used the youngster in all of the Premier League matches in the 2021/22 season, starting 36 out of 38. We have to remember that Saka is yet to play in the Champions League, and he won't in the 2022/23 season, which begs the question, will Saka try to move on and aim for Champions League football?
Even if this move doesn't happen, Arsenal will need to qualify for the next season's Champions League or secure Saka's stay at Arsenal. What's going in favour for the Gunners is that Pep Guardiola is currently heavily focused on finding a midfielder to add to the massive purchase of Erling Halland.
With Arsenal unwilling to sell, the price of Bukayo Saka might reach up to £100 million.
