Chelsea have shortlisted Paris Saint-Germain centre-back Marquinhos and Presnel Kimpembe as a possible summer signing as they continue to look for options to stabilize their defence. Either one of these two players can be a great addition to the London club, their situation at the French club is summarized below.

Thomas Tuchel is a big fan of the 28-year-old Brazilian international,  who he managed in Paris. The departure of Rudiger and with Christiansen and Azpilicueta reportedly close to a move to Barcelona, Chelsea are left with a need for quality central defenders. Marquinhos is an experienced player who has been with PSG since 2013 and is now the club captain. He has been a consistent starter at PSG, and his experience and consistency can seriously boost the Chelsea defence.

But, Marquinhos is a key player for the French team, and a more realistic target might be his partner in defence, Presnel Kimpembe. The French international replaced Thiago Silva when he left PSG. According to French journalist Olivier Bossard, Thiago Silva has sent messages to Kimpembe to “sell” him on the Chelsea proposal. The 26-year-old is worth £36 million, which could be a great deal for Chelsea. He, alongside Marquinhos, have been consistent starters for the French club, and either one could be an excellent addition to the London club.
