Man Utd in talks to sign 27-year-old international
Manchester United have opened negotiations with Watford over the transfer of goalkeeper Daniel Bachmann.
The Austria international has been a regular back-up goalkeeper for the Hornets, and United are now looking to lure him to Old Trafford.
The Red Devils are prepared to loan out Dean Henderson to Nottingham Forest, and believe they need another deputy behind David de Gea.
Tom Heaton was signed on a free transfer last summer, but the Englishman has played just 45 minutes of senior football over the past two years.
The club are wary of handing him with the deputy role, and prefer to sign Bachmann for the position. However, a deal won't be straightforward.
While the Red Devils are eyeing a season-long loan, it appears the Hornets prefer his permanent departure for around £4 million this summer.
Bachmann may have played limited first-team football, but he is already an international with Austria. He has 13 caps since his debut last year.
United could move for Newcastle's Karl Darlow if they can't land Bachmann.
