Man Utd make contract offer for Denmark star

Christian Eriksen news

Eriksen close to Man Utd transfer

Manchester United have made an official contract offer to Christian Eriksen following his departure from Brentford.

The Dane joined the Bees on a short-term deal in January this year, and he was superb for them with four goals and one assist from 11 games.

He is now a free-agent after the expiry of his contract, and The Mirror claims that United are keen on securing his services on a two-year deal.

A contract offer worth £150,000-a-week has been proposed to him and his representative, but a decision could be delayed for a few days.

Eriksen is prepared to assess United's transfer business. He could join them once they complete the signings of Frenkie de Jong and Tyrell Malacia.

As things stand, United don't face heavy competition for Eriksen, barring Brentford. Hence, they seem confident of sealing his signature.

He may not be a consistent starter for them in the Premier League, but would provide quality competition to Bruno Fernandes in the number 10 spot.
