Chelsea close to signing England attacker
Chelsea are reportedly on the cusp of signing Raheem Sterling from Manchester City this summer.
The Blues entered talks for the England international earlier last month, and they have since made significant progress.
According to Standard Sport, the club are prepared to pay £45m up front for Sterling with a further £10m in add-ons.
The proposal is likely to be accepted by the Cityzens, who are aiming to use the funds to strengthen other key positions.
The English champions have already signed Erling Haaland and Stefan Ortega while Julian Alvarez has returned from loan.
Their spending is expected to continue. Kalvin Phillips will join them from Leeds and could be followed by Marc Cucurella.
Meanwhile, it is only a matter of time before Chelsea sign Sterling. The 27-year-old has already agreed personal terms.
The former Liverpool graduate is set to become the Blues' highest earner with wages in excess of £350,000-per-week.
After Sterling, Chelsea could still pursue another wide player. They are prepared to offload Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech.
