Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has earmarked Ajax attacker Antony as a possible replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ronaldo is reportedly keen to leave United this summer in order to play for another club in the Champions League.

Amidst this, Ten Hag is said to be eyeing a replacement, and will urge United to sign Antony, according to The Mirror.

The report adds that United may need to pay a fee of around £70-80m to prise away the Brazil international from Ajax.

Antony would be handy signing in case of Ronaldo's exit, but he is not a centre-forward. He is a right-winger by trade.

He has operated in the position for most of his playing career, and is unlikely to provide a solution for United up front next term.

If Antony were to join the club, Ten Hag may have plans of playing either Anthony Martial or Marcus Rashford as a striker.

The duo may have the chance to revive their careers.
