Chelsea defender very close to joining Barcelona
Chelsea defender Cesar Azpilicueta is reportedly on the verge of joining Barcelona this summer.
The Spaniard has spent the past decade with the Blues, but he is likely to leave amid the added competition for places.
The Blues have signed one centre-back in Kalidou Koulibaly, and they are eyeing two more in the transfer window.
Meanwhile, the club are also aiming to bring in another right wing-back to provide back-up to first-choice Reece James.
Hence, it makes sense for Azpilicueta to move on and El Chiringuito claim that it is a matter of days before he leaves the club.
Barcelona's opening bid of around €3 million was rejected by the Blues, and they are already expected to make a renewed offer.
Chelsea are unlikely to force Azpilicueta to stay with them as a mark of respect for his services over the past 10 campaigns.
Marcos Alonso has also been tipped to join the Catalans, but negotiations have 'stalled' due to Chelsea's high price tag.
