Nuno Tavares to sign for Brighton

With the impending arrival of Oleksandr Zinchenko to Arsenal, the Gunners are ready to let Portuguese defender Nuno Tavares leave the Emirates Stadium. Brighton and Hove Albion are the 22-year-old's likely next destination, as the South Coast outfit are ready to cover Tavares' salary for the duration of the 2022/23 campaign.
Tavares has struggled at Arsenal since moving to the club from Benfica, but manager Mikel Arteta feels that a move to Brighton could only benefit the player and Arsenal should the left-sided defender return to the club a better player for it. Under Graham Potter, it is hoped Tavares will blossom.
Brighton defender Marc Cucurella is on the verge of a mega money move to Man City, as the Premier League champions seek to replace the outbound Zinchenko with the highly rated Spanish defender. Reports suggest that City will pay £27 million to secure Cucurella.
Nuno Tavares took part in 22 games for Arsenal last season, scoring one goal, but was famously taken off against Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup early on into the game after a dreadful start.
