Chelsea planning bid for Denzel Dumfries
Chelsea are weighing up an approach to sign Inter Milan defender Denzel Dumfries, according to David Ornstein.
The Blues currently have Reece James as the regular right wing-back, but there is not much quality behind him at the moment.
Cesar Azpilicueta and Ruben Loftus-Cheek deputised for him when he was injured, but neither were particularly impressive.
Hence, the Blues are looking to land Dumfries, and Ornstein has confirmed that talks are underway with the Nerazzurri.
The Netherlands star had a superb debut season for the San Siro giants last term, making 12 goal contributions from 45 outings.
The Nerazzurri are willing to sell him for €40m amid their financial concerns, and it appears Chelsea are favourites.
Manchester United have also been linked, but the chance of playing Champions League football could lure him to the Blues.
Meanwhile, Dumfries' arrival could see James play on the right side of the back three where he has hugely impressed in the past.
