Leicester City braced for Arsenal offer for midfielder

Leicester City are braced for a transfer offer from Arsenal for midfielder Youri Tielemans, Standard Sport claim.

The Gunners have been heavily linked with the Belgium international in recent weeks, but are yet to make a proposal.

The need to offload a midfielder was cited as a reason, and they are now close to doing so in the form of Lucas Torreira.

A deal worth £6m has been agreed with Turkish club Galatasaray for Torreira, and the Uruguayan has to accept personal terms.

Once that is done, the Gunners could shift their attention back to Tielemans. They have already agreed terms with him.

The Foxes want around £30m for the former Monaco man, but he could be sold for much less with his contract expiring.

His current deal concludes in June 2023, and he has no plans to renew. Arsenal will be eyeing a cut-price deal for him.

Tielemans' arrival should provide competition to Granit Xhaka amd Thomas Partey. His creativity will be a boost for the Gunners.
