Chelsea edge closer to Cesare Casadei deal

Chelsea are to sign Cesare Casadei from Inter Milan in a deal worth a reported £12 million transfer. The versatile 19-year-old can play in defensive midfield or attack, and is most comfortable playing in the centre of the pitch. Chelsea will beat numerous other clubs in signing Casadei.

The player has not even made his full first-team debut yet, but some impressive displays in the Primavera league for Inter's reserves have caught the eye. Chelsea's scouting network identified Casadei as a potential "world class talent" and new chairman Todd Boehly will bankroll a move for the Inter starlet.

Chelsea are likely to sell Marcos Alonso to Barcelona, and are busy signing replacements and particularly defensive reinforcements before the transfer window closes this month.

It is understood that at least three new faces will arrive at Stamford Bridge before the end of the transfer window, not including talented youngster Casadei.  Chelsea are considering life after Jorginho and N'golo Kante with a move for the 19-year-old, as Kante and the Italian international move 30 and 31 respectively.
