Begovic to Man Utd?

Manchester United are reportedly planning a late move for Everton goalkeeper Asmir Begovic.

The Red Devils are keen on landing a new deputy shot-stopper to David de Gea and they are considering multiple options.

Borussia Monchengladbach's Yann Sommer emerged as a target yesterday, but the German outfit are reluctant to lose him this summer.

Amidst this, The Telegraph report that United are weighing up a move for Begovic, who is currently the number two at the Toffees.

Begovic made just seven appearances in all competitions for the Toffees last term, but he is still regarded as a key player for them.

Toffees manager Frank Lampard does not want to lose him, and United face a difficult task on their hands to convince them to sell.

Begovic has excelled with his shot-stopping over the years, but he is not someone that is strong with distributing from the back.

A move for him does not make sense, but United appear keen on bringing in a new keeper with Tom Heaton only regarded as third-choice.
