Man Utd agree deal to sign Slovakia international

Martin Dubravka news

Dubravka to join Man Utd

Manchester United have finalised an agreement with Newcastle United to sign goalkeeper Martin Dubravka.

The Red Devils opened talks for the Slovakia international last week, and the Magpies were initially reluctant to lose his services.

However, they have eventually sanctioned the move after the 33-year-old made it clear that he wanted to join United this summer.

Dubravka will sign for the Red Devils on a season-long loan agreement with the option to buy for £5m at the end of the campaign.

It will be interesting to see whether the club will exercise the buy clause, considering they may want a young keeper next summer.

Leeds United's Illan Meslier is a top target for the Red Devils, and they could make a serious move for him in 10 months' time.

Dubravka is expected to join the club in the coming hours, but there could be more signings made before Thursday's transfer deadline.

Aside from a shot-stopper, United are eyeing a new midfielder, forward and a right-back. They already have an agreement to sign Antony.
