Chelsea ready to terminate contract of midfielder

Chelsea are prepared to mutually terminate the contract of midfielder Ross Barkley, according to The Mirror.
The England international made 14 appearances for the Blues last term, but he has now been deemed surplus to requirements.
Barkley currently does not have a shirt number, and it is claimed that the Blues are willing to pay off the final year of his deal.
The midfielder has been linked with multiple clubs on loan this summer, but his wages of £100,000-a-week are a stumbling block.
If Chelsea were to release him, there is a possibility that he may attract interest. West Ham and Everton could be among suitors.
David Moyes knows the midfielder from his time with Everton while Toffees manager Frank Lampard worked with him at Chelsea.
Both head coaches could offer a lifeline to the 28-year-old, whose career has been on a downslide since his move to Stamford Bridge.
Barkley was once regarded as one of the hottest England talents, but there are now doubts whether he can extend his Premier League career.
