Paqueta joins West Ham
Lucas Paqueta has wrapped up a move to West Ham, signing a long-term contract at the club yesterday, and smashing the club's previous transfer record. The player arrives at the London Stadium from Ligue 1 side Lyon, and the Hammers had reportedly beaten Arsenal and Chelsea in securing a deal for the Brazilian international.
It is understood that West Ham will pay a total of around £64 million for the former AC Milan star, and that the Brazilian will earn close to £160,000 per week at his new club.
“I am extremely happy to be here. I hope it’s the beginning of an enjoyable journey. I hope my time here is successful,” said Paqueta to the club's official website.
“Last season, West Ham had a very good season and I hope they continue to enjoy more and more good seasons in my time at the Club.
“I am excited to pull on the West Ham shirt and show the fans what I can do, to help my team-mates and the Club.”
