Wolves confirm signing of Diego Costa
Wolverhampton Wanderers have confirmed the signing of former Chelsea star Diego Costa on a free transfer.
The Midlands outfit signed Sasa Kalajdzic to bolster their strikeforce this summer, but he picked up an ACL injury earlier this month.
As a result, the club were forced to pursue a replacement, considering their main striker Raul Jimenez has also been out with a groin problem.
Wolves have now confirmed the signing Costa on a free transfer. His work permit was initially rejected, but approved following an appeal.
The Spanish star has not played any competitive football since terminating his deal with Brazilian side Atletico Mineiro in January this year.
Hence, he is unlikely to make the starting XI against Manchester City this weekend, but could be an impact player for Wolves off the bench.
Wolves have made a slow start to the current campaign with six points from as many games, and now face a tough test against City at home.
