Premier League club failed to sign Arsenal target
Shakhtar Donetsk sporting director Darijo Srna has confirmed that Everton had an offer rejected for Mykhaylo Mudryk this summer.
Mudryk is widely regarded as one of the best young wingers in European football, and he has been linked with the likes of Arsenal, Brentford and Everton.
The youngster has already expressed his desire to play for the Gunners, but it seems only Everton made an attempt to sign him in the recent transfer window.
Speaking to CBS Sports, Srna confirmed that the Toffees offered €30m, but the president made it clear that Mudryk was not for sale at that price.
He said: "We received an offer of €30million [from Everton]. And when our president doesn't sell a player for €30million. Especially in such difficult times, he is sending a message to everyone that he wants to progress in the Champions League and to win the championship."
Mudryk has been exceptional for Shakhtar in the Champions League this campaign with two goals and two assists from as many appearances.
Shakhtar consider him as a huge prospect, and are reluctant to sell him for less than €50m. It remains to be seen whether any club meets their valuation.
