Chelsea star confirms turning down transfer offers
Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga has confirmed that he turned down multiple transfer offers to leave the club this summer.
The Spaniard was widely expected to leave the Blues in the recent transfer window, having played second fiddle to Edouard Mendy.
Lazio and Napoli were among the top clubs interested in his services, but the shot-stopper eventually decided to stay put with the Blues.
Speaking to El Larguero, Arrizabalaga acknowledged that he had the opportunity to leave the London giants, but was happy to continue instead.
He said: "Yes, there were [chances to leave Chelsea], but the club always gave me their trust, they always wanted me to be part of the squad. We analysed it and I am happy to stay and be in this great club."
Arrizabalaga has started the last two games for the Blues with Edouard Mendy sidelined with a rib injury sustained against West Ham.
The 27-year-old is likely to drop down the pecking order following the international break. Mendy is anticipated to retain his place.
