Arsenal back in the race for Bundesliga defender

Ndicka to Arsenal this winter?

Arsenal are back in the race to sign Eintracht Frankfurt defender Evan Ndicka ahead of January, as per Standard Sport.

The north Londoners were eager to land a left-footed centre-back over the summer and Lisandro Martinez was an option.

A deal did not materialise with the Argentine choosing Manchester United. The Gunners were also priced out of the transfer.

It is now reported that they have their sights on landing Ndicka whose contract with Eintracht Frankfurt expires next summer.

The Frenchman is likely to leave during the upcoming January transfer window as Frankfurt don't want to lose him for nothing.

This presents the Gunners with the chance to land him for cheap. He could be available for as little as £7m, as per Calciomercato.

Arsenal are bound to face plenty of competition, however, with Juventus, Roma and AC Milan among those keeping tabs on him.

Ndicka has his sights on playing Champions League football, but could be persuaded to join Arsenal with their excellent league position.

The club are four points clear of Manchester City at the top of the league.
