Cristiano Ronaldo dropped out of Man Utd squad vs Chelsea
Manchester United have confirmed that Cristiano Ronaldo will not be involved in Saturday's Premier League encounter at Chelsea.
The Portugal international has endured a difficult campaign with the Red Devils, scoring just two goals across all competitions.
He has been in-and-out of the starting line-up and yesterday, he was an unused substitute in the 2-0 league win over Tottenham Hotspur.
In the same game, he stormed down the tunnel in the 89th minute, and United have now punished him with a one-game suspension.
A statement on Manutd.com read: "Cristiano Ronaldo will not be part of the Manchester United squad for this Saturday's Premier League game against Chelsea. The rest of the squad is fully focused on preparing for that fixture."
The decision was justified for the Portuguese's actions and he may have now played his final game for United and manager Erik ten Hag.
There are widespread claims that the 37-year-old could be released from his contract early such that he can find a new club in January.
