Newcastle United favourites to sign Chelsea attacker

Newcastle United are deemed favourites to land Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic during the January transfer window.

The United States international was desperate to leave the Blues over the summer following a rift with former boss Thomas Tuchel.

He was linked with a loan move to several clubs including Manchester United but ultimately, the hierarchy decided against his departure.

The Blues have since replaced Tuchel with Graham Potter as their manager, but this has not necessarily improved Pulisic's playing time.

According to Todo Fichajes, the Magpies want a new creative player in January and have their sights on landing Pulisic from the Blues.

Leicester City's James Maddison was their top target over the summer, but the Foxes declined their £60 million proposal for the Englishman.

The Midlands side are unlikely to entertain offers in January, but Pulisic could be prised away for a fee of around £30 million this winter.

Chelsea are lining up a move for AC Milan's Rafael Leao. He could end up as a direct replacement for Pulisic, who is desperate for regular minutes.
