Chelsea planning swoop for Bruno Guimaraes
Chelsea are reportedly planning a surprise move to sign Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes in January.
The Blues are currently uncertain over the futures of Jorginho and N'Golo Kante. Their respective contracts expire at the end of the season.
Meanwhile, Denis Zakaria has not played a single minute for the club so far and his loan deal from Juventus could be terminated in January.
Hence, the club must strengthen their midfield in the near future and Calciomercato claim that Guimaraes is a top target for the board.
Newcastle United only signed the Brazilian star from Lyon last winter. He has been in superb form with 10 goal contributions from 27 games.
Aside from his creativity, the 24-year-old has also excelled with his tackling and interceptions. He appears to be evolving into a world-class performer.
There are no surprises that Chelsea are interested, but it could take a massive bid of around £100m to test the Magpies' resolve in the New Year.
