Chelsea manager has clear stance on Cristiano Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo news

Potter does not want Ronaldo at Chelsea

Chelsea manager Graham Potter is not enthused by the prospect of signing Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo in January.

The Portugal international recently came up with an explosive interview with Piers Morgan where he slammed manager Erik ten Hag.

United are still collecting facts from the comments made, but it is widely expected that Ronaldo will be released from his contract.

Chelsea are considered as among the favourites to land the 37-year-old, but The Mirror claim that a deal appears improbable for now.

Blues owner Todd Boehly wanted to bring Ronaldo to Stamford Bridge last summer, but manager Thomas Tuchel vetoed the decision.

Tuchel has been dismissed from the post, but new boss Potter now shares the same vision and does not want to work with Ronaldo.

Chelsea are on the look out for a new striker at the beginning of the year and could attempt to sign Christopher Nkunku or Rafael Leao.

Both players are expected to cost around €100 million this winter.
