Arsenal make progress in chase for Mudryk

Mykhaylo Mudryk news

Mudryk deal reaches agreement

Arsenal have moved a step closer to signing Ukrainian wonderkid Mykhaylo Mudryk from Shakhtar Donetsk, after the Gunners have agreed a fee in principle with the financially struggling club. It is understood that Arsenal will pay an initial 50 million euros up front, with a further 25 million euros in performance related bonuses for the player.

Mudryk has been posting various images on his Instagram account linking him with a move to Arsenal, but so far no official word has been received from the Emirates with regards to a permanent deal being completed.

The 21-year-old has scored 10 goals in 30 games since his emergence into the Shakhtar starting XI, and has caught the eye for his impressive range of passing and dribbling skill, and incredible pace.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta will be looking to add some attacking talent to his squad this January as the Gunners continue their unlikely pursuit of the Premier League title, which continued on Boxing Day with a 2-1 victory over West Ham United at the Emirates Stadium. Mudryk is seen as the club's primary target for the January transfer window.

It is understood that Arsenal will pay 10 million euros to Shakhtar if they win the Champions League, and a further 15 million euros if Mudryk plays in 15 Premier League games in one season, and Arsenal win the Premier League title.
