Arsenal make bid for Leandro Trossard

Belgium international striker Leandro Trossard could be set for a surprise move to Premier League leaders Arsenal in the January transfer window, as Trossard's club Brighton and Hove Albion appear resigned to losing their star forward this month. The Gunners missed out on a move to sign Mykhaylo Mudryk, who joined Chelsea, and will now switch their attentions to Leandro Trossard.
Trossard arrived in the Premier League in 2019, and has since enjoyed international recognition, appearing 24 times and scoring five goals. However, the 28-year-old wants to move to North London as soon as possible, and the Gunners have made an opening offer of £12 million rejected.
This season Trossard has had an impressive start, with 7 goals in 16 games, and in the previous season the player had a return of eight goals in 34 Premier League matches.
Tottenham were amongst the clubs who were linked with a move for the talented Belgian, but it is understood Arsenal are in pole position.
Trossard is wanted for his versatility, and the forward can represent competition for both Gabriel Martinelli on the left wing, as well as Eddie Nketiah and Gabriel Jesus as lone forward.
