Everton want to sign Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher
Everton have reportedly made a surprise approach to sign Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher before Tuesday's transfer deadline.
The Blues graduate has been a regular in the Premier League this campaign but he could drop down the pecking order if Enzo Fernandez signs.
Meanwhile, the London giants also need to offload players to avoid Financial Fair Play sanctions and Gallagher could head for the exit door.
The Toffees are in a deep relegation battle at the moment, but they will be hoping to turnaround their fortunes under new manager Sean Dyche.
They have now made an ambitious £40 million to sign Gallagher and it remains to be seen whether the England international considers the switch.
Gallagher was reluctant to leave the Blues during the last transfer window and he could maintain a similar stance before tomorrow's deadline.
He may need to be convinced to join the Toffees. Dyche may have to guarantee him a regular starting role to make the late transfer.
