Chelsea midfielder speaking with Man City over transfer?

Chelsea midfielder Mateo Kovacic is reportedly speaking with Manchester City over a summer transfer.

The Croatian will enter the final year of his contract this summer and talks over an extension have stalled.

As a result, he could be sold in the off-season and it appears the Cityzens are keen on landing his services.

The Premier League holders are due to part ways with Ilkay Gundogan when his contract expires in June.

Hence, they want a readymade replacement in the squad and Kovacic is deemed as the prime target.

Chelsea are likely to sell him for around £35m as they need to recoup funds after their lavish spending.

Kovacic could be one of many players heading for the exit door as part of the plan to balance the books.

Mason Mount has also been linked with an exit over the past few weeks amid his contract stand-off.

The Englishman is apparently on the radar of Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool, as per reports.
