Chelsea linked with surprise move for Brentford star
Chelsea have been linked with a surprise move for Brentford striker Ivan Toney ahead of the summer transfer window.
The Englishman has had a fantastic season with the Bees, netting 19 goals from 31 Premier League games for them.
His progress has caught the eye of the Blues and The Sun report that they could make a summer approach to land him.
The Bees are expected to hold out for at least £50m but this won't be a stumbling block for Chelsea this summer.
The big concern for them, however, could be Toney's ongoing investigation over betting offences before joining Brentford.
The striker could be handed a lengthy ban out of the game as a result and Chelsea need to be wary of the situation.
They would not want to spend big money on the striker only for him to be suspended for the entirety of next season.
This is reportedly a prime reason why many elite Premier League clubs have decided against making an approach for him.
