Mikel Arteta confirms season-ending injuries for Arsenal duo
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed that Gabriel Martinelli and Oleksandr Zinchenko will be sidelined for the rest of the season.
Martinelli picked up an ankle injury in the first half against Brighton & Hove Albion last weekend and he was substituted within minutes.
Martinelli was spotted with a protective boot on his left leg at full-time and Arteta has now revealed that he is out for the final two games.
The Gunners boss added that the attacker's injury is somewhat serious and he could be on the sidelines for a number of weeks at least.
Meanwhile, Zinchenko's calf injury is a minor one but the Ukraine international is unlikely to be fit for the last two matches.
Arsenal are currently on 81 points for the season and they will be aiming to finish on 87 by winning their final two top-flight games.
In the absence of Martinelli and Zinchenko, Leandro Trossard and Kieran Tierney are expected to start in their positions tomorrow against Nottingham Forest.
