With Hugo Lloris set to leave White Hart Lane this summer, Tottenham will be moving quickly to sign Brentford goalkeeper David Raya. Brentford have been looking for around £40 million to sell the Spanish shot stopper, but Spurs are unwilling to pay more than £27 million for the keeper.

Raya  has been a crucial figure for Brentford Football Club in the Premier League. Born on September 15, 1995, Raya began his career in the youth academy of Barcelona before joining the youth setup at Blackburn Rovers in 2012. He quickly rose through the ranks and made his professional debut for Blackburn in 2015. His outstanding performances caught the attention of Brentford, who signed him in 2016.

Since joining Brentford, Raya has showcased his exceptional shot-stopping abilities and incredible reflexes, earning him a reputation as one of the top goalkeepers in the Premier League. Known for his agility and commanding presence in the box, Raya has been instrumental in Brentford's success, helping the team secure promotion to the Premier League in the 2020-2021 season. His impressive performances have caught the eye of many top clubs, and he has also been called up to the Spanish national team, reflecting his rapid rise in the footballing world.

Raya's skills extend beyond shot-stopping as he is also known for his ability to distribute the ball with accuracy and composure, playing a vital role in Brentford's possession-based style of play. His calmness under pressure and ability to initiate quick counterattacks have provided an additional dimension to Brentford's attacking threat. With his solid goalkeeping abilities and excellent distribution, Raya has become an indispensable asset for the team, contributing significantly to Brentford's quest for success in the Premier League and establishing himself as one of the most promising goalkeepers in the league.

Tottenham have a budget of around £80 million to spend on new players, and have made Raya and James Maddison their top two transfer targets.
