Aymeric Laporte to leave Man City for Tottenham?
Manchester City defender Aymeric Laporte has emerged as a transfer target for Tottenham Hotspur, as the North London club seek a swift deal for the Spain international, who has been informed that he is free to leave the Etihad Stadium this summer.
City have already signed Josko Gvardiol, while Nathan Ake has agreed a new contract with the club this summer. Laporte could be allowed to leave for a fee of around £35 million, as the former Athletic Bilbao defender considers his next move.
Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou has been active in the transfer window, but defence is an area that the Australian boss seeks to improve before the end of August.
Laporte arrived in 2018 for a fee of around £57 million, so the Premier League and Champions League winners will take a hit on a player who has appeared 120 times for the club since joining.
Beyond Tottenham, there is interest from Spain in Real Madrid as well as Bayern Munich, who have been weighing up a mega money transfer deal for the defender.
