Chelsea star on his way to Real Madrid

Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga is set to join Real Madrid on a season-long loan deal this summer.

The Spanish giants suffered a huge setback earlier this week as Thibaut Courtois suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury in training.

As a result, Los Blancos want a high-profile replacement in the squad. 

Arrizabalaga was initially on his way to Bayern on loan, but he has made a surprise U-turn after Los Blancos expressed an interest in signing him.

The Spain international was a top target for Madrid five years ago before they made the decision to purchase Thibaut Courtois from Chelsea.

Arrizabalaga has struggled to become a regular at Chelsea over the years, and he is now prepared to spend the season with Los Blancos on loan.

With his exit, the Blues are likely to invest on another goalkeeper, but it is expected that Robert Sanchez will become the new number one.

Sanchez has not had any pre-season, but he is expected to start between the sticks when Chelsea host Liverpool in the league on Sunday.
