Arsenal still owe around £10m to Lille for the transfer of Nicolas Pepe, according to French publication L'Equipe.

The Ivorian fell out-of-favour under manager Mikel Arteta last season, and he was loaned out to Nice for a small sum.

Pepe had a good start with the French Ligue 1 outfit, but soon fell out-of-favour amid form and injury concerns.

The Gunners recently decided to release Pepe from his contract, but it appears they are yet to settle his fee with Lille.

Arsenal bought the winger from the French side for £72m in 2019. They agreed to pay his transfer fee in instalments.

The final part of the payment (£10m) will only be settled by the north London club by the end of the current season.

Pepe joined the Gunners with plenty of hype, but he struggled to make a significant impact in the Premier League games.

While he was influential in the Cup games and the Europa League, Pepe never established himself in the English top-flight.
