Wolves submit offer for Chelsea striker Broja
Armando Broja has been told that he is free to leave Stamford Bridge during the January transfer window, after failing to impress when given the opportunity to lead the Chelsea frontline in recent weeks. The Albanian forward has been with the Blues since 2009, but a return of 2 goals in 26 Premier League games appears to short of the attacking metrics that the club are looking for and Wolves have tabled an opening offer of £20 million to sign the Slough-born attacker.
Broja began his career at Tottenham in 2007 aged just six, before transferring across London to Chelsea and spending eleven years with the club's youth side. Finally, after a spell on loan at Vitesse Arnhem, Broja received his first appearance for the club's first team in 2020 and has since gone on to represent Albania's national team.
A relatively successful spell with Southampton in 2021-22 with six Premier League goals had given Broja an opportunity under new manager Mauricio Pochettino last summer, and Pochettino rewarded Broja with first-team starts after injuries to Christopher Nkunku and the AFCON-bound Nicolas Jackson.
However, the returning Jackson and a possible move for Morgan Gibbs-White means that Broja could be allowed to leave the club and Molineux appears to be a possible next destination for the 22-year-old.
