Mauricio Pochettino reacts after Carabao Cup final loss
Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has said that his team were unable to capitalise on big chances against Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final.
The Blues had a brilliant chance to beat an injury-plagued Liverpool outfit, but they failed to do so due to the lack of cutting edge in the final third.
They were guilty of missing as many as five big chances. In one instance, Conor Gallagher was clear on goal but his shot was straight at the keeper.
The London giants eventually succumbed to a 1-0 loss before penalties. Virgil van Dijk rose height from a corner to seal the win for the Reds.
Speaking after the game, Pochettino said that his team did not capitalise on clear-cut chances and it was difficult to react after the late goal.
He said: "We created four, five, six big chances and we didn't score. In a game like today and in a final to score first, it is a big advantage."
"We didn't score and that is a bit of a problem. We conceded in the last minute and it is difficult to react."
