Arsenal eyeing deal for Newcastle United star

Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak has emerged as a top target for Arsenal ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Gunners have lacked the cutting edge from the centre-forward department this term and they need an upgrade.

Isak has been on the club's radar from his time at Real Sociedad and it is claimed that they could swoop for his services.

The Swede has netted 21 goals from 34 appearances this season, but the Magpies could still sell him due to FFP issues.

Eddie Howe's side are expected to hold out for £100m, but this may not be a stumbling block for the Gunners this summer.

The club spent £200m on new signings last summer and they are expected to go on a similar spending spree this time.

Aside from a new striker, the Gunners are eyeing a new winger, left-back and a defensive midfielder before next season.

Arsenal will be in league action against Wolves on the road on Saturday.
